![]() ![]() Transmission is the default BitTorrent client in many Linux distributions. In the end I'm using a Raspberry Pi for torrenting - Transmission in a Docker container that brings along its own VPN client so I'm sure everything is protected. This guide will run you through the basic usage of the terminal client. But no web client or API for some insane reason. It's available on Android TV as well with a nice interface. There's a decent port of Transmission on Play store that also has a web interface, but no SOCKS5 support.īest torrent client for Android IMO is libretorrent. But without the proxy I did have it working through the web interface, seems OK. (They have to go through extra approval and it's tough for torrent apps to get onto the Play Store in the first place).īiglyBT says it supports SOCKS5 but I couldn't get it to work (interface would get messed up if I tried to set the proxy server). You have to sideload the APK because the developer didn't submit it for Android TV approval. TTorrent is OK and has its own web interface, but a bit simple for what I wanted. If I run a VPN on the Shield that'll mess up Netflix and GeForce Now. I don't want to torrent without a VPN or some other protection so I used to use tTorrent with my VPN provider's SOCKS5 proxy.
